As the snow flies and the icy winds blow this winter, feel free to snicker just a little as you gaze out your condo at the hapless folks grimacing as they go about the endless chores of the season.
Hey, you have a right to be smug. Your wise purchase has freed you up from a lot of hassle and back-breaking labour. Pour yourself another hot chocolate and review the reasons you can feel superior this frosty season. We know you have some time because you’re not:
Shovelling snow. Enjoy the beauty of snow drifting from the sky, secure in the knowledge that you won’t be shoveling it.
De-icing your car. A heated garage means you can come and go with ease in winter, without the bother of scraping the ice and snow from your car or even taking time to warm it up.
Trudging to the post office to pick up your oversized packages. Shopping online has never held more appeal when you realize that your concierge will take care of your packages until you get home, saving a trip to the local postal outlet to pick it up.
Hauling yourself and your gear to the gym. Decked out in heavy winter gear while trudging or driving through treacherous conditions may mean your energy has been zapped by the time you get to the gym. Even worse, winter weather may convince you it’s not worth the bother. With a fitness centre conveniently located on-site, you can zip down in your gym shorts, work out and be back home before your favourite show starts.
Worrying about your property when you go on vacation. Having neighbours in such close proximity makes it a lot easier to lock up and leave for a carefree holiday. Security features like a concierge, buzzers or a guard service ensures your home is well cared for when you’re gone.
Fretting over your budget. While condominiums do have a large price range, many are within the budget of first-time buyers and singles who may find single-family housing out of reach. You might even have some extra cash to stash in an RRSP this year, saving future worries.
Travelling across the city to get anywhere. The hottest condo and loft developments are found right in the middle of the action. If you’ve purchased your place based on location, you won’t be stuck in traffic or crushed on the TTC commuting anywhere.
